12 Mar VI CIRCUITO PROVINCIAL “Flamenco en nuestros pueblos”
El pasado 2 de Marzo en la Peña Flamenca “Curro Malena” de Aguilar de la Frontera comenzó el VI Circuito Provincial “Flamenco en nuestros Pueblos”, organizado por la Federación Provincial de Peñas Flamencas de Córdoba en colaboración con la Delegación de Consumo y Participación Ciudadana de la Diputación de Córdoba.
This flamenco circuit aims to bring young flamenco artists to the different flamenco clubs in the province of Cordoba. Its programme is scheduled for the months of March and April 2018. The last performance is scheduled for 27 April in Pozoblanco.
Aurora Barbero, in charge of the area at the provincial council, stresses that "flamenco is very latent in Andalusian society, and activities like this contribute to its promotion through the flamenco peñas". She also points out that "it is a boost for young flamenco artists who are making a comeback and are already being recognised, not only at provincial level, but also at regional and national level".
Por otro lado, el presidente de la Federación de Peñas Flamencas, José Carmona, señala que las peñas flamencas que participan en éste circuito son las que tienen más fuerza en la provincia, además de más atracción flamenca y saben dinamizar y dar categoría a éste evento. Destaca también la labor tan importantes que desarrollan, ya que, “gozan de una larga tradición, y a los que forman de ellas no solo les une el flamenco, sino también lazos familiares y de amistad”.
The VI Provincial Circuit was also present on 2 March at the Peña Flamenca 'La Encina', in Encinas Reales, and next weekend, on 17 and 18 March, it will visit the Peñas 'Curro de Utrera', in La Guijarrosa; 'Manolo Caracol', in Montalbán; and 'La Albuhera', in Espejo.
This event will continue on the 23rd of March in the peña 'Joseíto Téllez', in Fuente Palmera. In April, on the weekend of the 6th and 7th, it will continue in the flamenco peñas 'El Lucero' in Montilla; and 'Cayetano Muriel', in Benamejí. And on the 15th, 21st and 27th of April in the peña of Doña Mencía, 'Baenense', 'De Ochavillo's and 'Agustín Fernández' from Pozoblanco, respectively.
The performances will be given by the following artists: Isabel Durán, Antonio Mejías, Manolo Caraco, Salvador Anaya and Moisés Vargas on vocals, and Miguel Ángel Laguna, Manuel Flores, Alfonso Linares and Niño Seve on guitar.
