From Argot Flamenco we would like to congratulate the ALERTA ROJA movement for the Ondas 2020 award as musical phenomenon of the year. All the professionals in the cultural sector and who are part of this movement are in luck.
Our struggle and efforts have been recognised, demonstrating that united we are stronger to demand urgent measures for our cultural sector.
This great news encourages us even more to continue working to save the Show and Events sector.
In the context of maximum vulnerability and instability in which we find ourselves, live music is suffering an extremely serious situation that is having drastic repercussions on an entire sector that brings together workers, companies, organisations and associations totalling more than 700,000 professionals, and which alone generates 3.2% of Spain's GDP.
In common voice, which in an apolitical and neutral way has taken to the streets, staining buildings and public spaces red in several countries, brings together countless groups that have been silenced in this crisis, and affects a society that has been deprived of musical manifestations that are a fundamental part of everyone's social life.
From big festivals to local festivals, to tours and concerts, in concert halls or large venues, of artists of all styles, they have disappeared from our lives; and this prize for silence aims to raise a voice for the whole of society to hear it loud and clear.
For the substantive and necessary awareness and visibility of this problem, which requires an immediate solution for the survival of music.
That is why we continue to work so that the public administrations do not abandon us and take us into account, our companies and our businesses are very important for society.
