From Argot Flamenco, we want to pay tribute to this great poet, playwright and prose writer Federico García Lorca, born in Fuente Vaqueros (Granada) on the 85th anniversary of his death, 18 August 2021.
An Andalusian poet, a member of the Generation of '27, the most influential and popular in 20th century Spanish literature, and as a playwright he is considered one of the greatest Spanish playwrights of the 20th century.
Un poeta, que gracias a la popularidad de sus libros como: “Poeta en Nueva York” , “Poema de Cante Jondo” , “Romancero Gitano” , “Llanto por Ignacio Sánchez Mejías”, “Los cuatro muleros” , “Zorongo Gitano” , En el Café de chinitas” ; y sus obras teatrales como: “Bodas de Sangre” , “Yerma”, “La casa de Bernarda Alba” , “Mariana Pineda” y muchas más…., consiguió inspirar a multitud de artistas en la música, en el flamenco, en el teatro, en las artes escénicas, en la pintura, etc, y es por ello, que gracias a esa transmisión literaria, sigue vivo a pesar de cumplirse ya 85 años que nos abandonó, tras ser asesinado.
