Already have been presented at the headquarters of the Andalusian Institute of Flamenco events to be held in the different provinces of Andalusia on the occasion of the celebration of the Day of Flamenco on November 16. A program that the Andalusian Government has promoted and sponsored to commemorate on this date the inclusion of Flamenco, seven years ago, in the Representative List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity of Unesco.
The presentation was attended by Mª Ángeles Carrasco, president of the Andalusian Institute of Flamenco, Miguel Ángel Vázquez, Minister of Culture of the Junta de Andalucía, Susana Díaz, president of the Junta de Andalucía and the Flamenco dancer Matilde Coral.
The celebration of this day, declared by the Andalusian Government Council in 2011, is the confirmation that Flamenco is part of the essence and identity of Andalusia, as well as a cultural manifestation of great magnitude that transcends borders. Also, this date commemorates an intangible heritage, unique and genuine, which has fans and followers around the world.
In addition to the headquarters of the main cultural centers of the Ministry of Culture, the Ministry of Education, municipalities, public libraries, Andalusian universities, foundations, conservatories, flamenco schools, music festivals and flamenco festivals also participate in this commemoration.
The program includes performances, galas, concerts, conferences, book presentations, round tables with the participation of different experts, exhibitions, screenings and children's workshops, in addition to various educational activities, master classes, flashmob, circuits organized in collaboration with flamenco clubs.
In this way, history, present and future of Flamenco coexist in a very complete program with a multitude of activities throughout Andalusia.
In addition, as in previous years, the Ministry of Education has organized the Flamenco and Education awards ceremony in Seville on November 16.
