INTERNATIONAL FLAMENCO DAY

INTERNATIONAL FLAMENCO DAY

Today, Friday 16 November 2018, we commemorate the International Day of Flamenco, since UNESCO included Flamenco in the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity on 16 November 2010. Since then it has been supported by the world's largest cultural institution that ensures the maintenance of culture and traditional values. This unique and multiple cultural manifestation is a symbol of Andalusia's identity and represents it artistically all over the world.

Flamenco is also recognised by the autonomous community of Andalusia, as it is included in its new statute of autonomy, and it is for this reason that the public institutions are committed to protect, study and disseminate this art in its different expressions of singing, dancing and guitar playing.

From Argot Flamenco we will continue to work for our popular and traditional roots that are expressed through Flamenco, so that future generations will be aware of our cultural legacy. It is also important to value the work of all flamenco artists of different expressions who strive daily to show their art and their feelings to the public.

Thanks to the different public and private administrations that collaborate in the different cultural projects of Flamenco so that this art is never lost.

CONGRATULATIONS.....
