INTERNATIONAL DANCE DAY

INTERNATIONAL DANCE DAY

From Argot Flamenco, today 29th April we join the commemoration of the International Dance Day, proclaimed by UNESCO in 1982 on the initiative of the International Dance Committee.

A universal art discipline in which artists express themselves through body movements, communicating their instinct outwards and bringing out their essence to convey their emotions and feelings. A form of expression and social interaction accompanied by acoustic rhythms, for entertainment, artistic, cultural and religious purposes. ....

Currently we can highlight several styles and genres of dance, according to different cultures, ranging from the traditional and academic to the everyday. Here we show you some of them:

  • Popular and folkloric dance: in which the cultural values and traditions of a people are expressed, such as flamenco, Arabic dance, tango and ballroom dancing.

  • Classical Dance: harmonic and coordinated movements are performed, coming from the classical period of medieval antiquity: ballet dance .

  • Modern dance: its movements and costumes reflect a social identity: popping, funky, break dance, jumpstlyle, hip hop.

Every style and genre of dance has a number of significant elements, such as:

  • Space: adequate space should be provided for the execution of training and presentations.

  • Choreography: based on the coordination of body movements to form a dance, under the direction of a choreographer.

  • Training: through continuous study and practice to achieve an optimal execution of the choreography.

  • Clothing: clothing and accessories appropriate to the style and genre of dance.

There are many professional artists who dedicate themselves to this important artistic discipline and who, with a lot of effort and courage, devote a large part of their lives to it in order to express it all in a spectacular way.

It has also been a very hard year for all dance artists, to whom we show our full support and hope that little by little the stages of the world will be filled with dance.

Congratulations artists for all your work that never stops...!!!!

HAPPY INTERNATIONAL DANCE DAY !
